How do I get to the Flower Market?

The Ottawa Flower Market is held at the Parkdale outdoor Market :

366 PARKDALE AVE, Ottawa, ON

OC Transpo has many stops close to the market, but we suggest walking so you have to opportunity to enjoy the many shops and restaurants in the neighborhood.

 

Is there parking at the market?

If you are driving to the market there is parking available close by on the side streets. There is no stopping or parking at the market specifically.

What if it’s raining?

Rain or shine, we will be there!

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, credit and debit.

What will I find at the Flower Market?

The Flower Market stall is filled with an array of seasonal, fragrant, specialty cut flowers and foliage, all grown locally (using organic practices) by the OFM Farmer-Florists.

The availability of specific flowers changes as they come into season in our area. Here are some examples of the flowers you will find at the market, and the seasons they come into bloom.


What is the “Slow Flowers” movement, and why should I buy locally grown flowers?

“At its simplest, it (slow flowers) means enjoying flowers grown with sustainable farming practices, harvested in their natural season of bloom, sourced as close to you as possible, and produced by florists who are using green, chemical-free design techniques,”

How do I transport my fresh flowers?

To ensure your bouquet makes it home safely, treat it like you would a pint of ice cream. Try to keep them cool and out of direct sun, and follow the steps below to ensure they have the longest vase life.

Does the OFM provide wedding services?

Although the OFM does not provide wedding and event services, many of our members do, as well as other floral offerings like subscription bouquets.
